Iranian Walnut And Pomegranate Stew
Chicken, cut into breast and leg pieces
1 lb Walnuts
3 cups Pomegranate Juice
Chop and Fry the onions.
Add the chicken pieces and fry both sides until golden brown.
Add water and
salt and simmer until the chicken is partially cooked.
Chop the walnuts into very fine pieces in a blender.
Add the walnuts and the pomegranate juice/puree to the mixture and simmer very gently until the chicken
is cooked and the sauce is thick and dark brown.
Note: If the mixture is not dark brown or doesn‚Äôt taste very rich you can add more pomegranate juice or
I found I had to put in a lot more than the recommended ingredients.
If the mixture is too sour for
your taste, you can add a little sugar.
